Anabode Design’s Founding Director, Andrew Slattery, brings over 25 years of experience in building design and drafting, specialising in Melbourne’s Eastern Suburbs, where he has built a deep connection with Melbourne’s East. Centrally located in Blackburn, Andrew has a true love for each suburb’s local community and unique character. Before founding Anabode Design & Drafting, Andrew honed his expertise as a principal registered drafting practitioner at several prominent building design firms in the Eastern suburbs around Blackburn, Mitcham, Forest Hill, Camberwell, Balwyn, Croydon and Park Orchards, where he developed a keen understanding of the area’s diverse residential styles, drafting plans, and design needs. This local experience and passion inform every project he leads, ensuring a personalized approach that blends functionality, aesthetics, and the spirit of the community.

Andrew is a leading expert in his field, passionate about building design and drafting plans for the residential construction industry. He is a committed collaborator in the built environment within the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne. Anabode Design & Drafting has built a strong reputation for professional collaboration with local councils—particularly within the Planning and Building departments—including Whitehorse, Boroondara, Maroondah, Knox, Banyule, Glen Eira, Stonnington, and Yarra Ranges City Councils.

As a long-standing member of Design Matters National since 2000, Andrew is equally passionate about encouraging all building designers to actively contribute to improving the industry as a whole, participating in collaborative industry forums, mentorship, and continuing professional development.
